Mechatronics robotic system for motion guidance

The device what we are designing is ''smart mechatronic mobile robot guidance system'' or, (Motawif). It is an autonomous robot to seek, detect, recognize and track a path on the ground, sensing the surroundings and make decisions, intended to support and help people with disabilities and special needs (patients which are paraplegic, have muscle diseases or serious paralysis people)to perform specific predetermined tasks without help from other people and feel safer about their surroundings,The projectis to design an integrated sensor array that will be mounted on a powered wheelchair. A single battery will power the sensors, as well as a controlling microcontroller, driving amplifier, and two DC motors. Sensor placement will be located on the base and/or front of the wheelchair to provide protection against obstacles at close range.

Our proposed device will take the form of a smart wheelchair intended to guide and/or supportpeople to perform Haj, mainly Performing OMRAH : TAWAF around AL-KAABA Al- MUSHARAFFAH and / or ALSA'EE between ALSAFA and ALMARWA , these tasks are shown in Figure 1.3 , this is from where the name '' Mechatronic Motawif''.

This project was chosen because it is practical and useful, it will allow people with disabilities to live life a little easier, and it was also chosen based off the sensor aspect of the project. A prototype will be constructed that will demonstrate the main features of our design. It important to note that this design integrates many different aspects of mechanical, electrical and control engineering fields, this project serves as an excellent example of mechatronics systems, where a useful system can be constructed by apply simultaneously interdisciplinary knowledge of controls, machinery, digital signal processing (DSP), communication, software programming and power management for solving technological problems resulting in products with more synergy.
